Welcome to our new Kids Cooking Series ! Today my daughter Asiyah will teach you how to make her absolute favorite dish- Mulukhia (Jew’s Mallow).
My daughter made this video to show you just how easy it is to make Mulukhia!
This easy side dish can be served over rice or quinoa, or with bread.
Mulukhia (Jew’s Mallow) is easy to make and filled with health benefits, such as:
- anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

- Vitamin A, which improves the eyesight and strengthens the hair and immune system.
- fiber, which improves digestion and gut health.
- betacarotene, iron, calcium, Vitamin C and more than 32 vitamins and minerals!
For this dish, you can use either frozen mulukhia or fresh, which looks like this:

Ingredients
- 1tablespoon butter
- 2cloves garlicchopped
- handful fresh cilantro
- 1bag frozen mulukhiaor about 300 grams fresh, washed and stems removed
- 1/2cup bone brothor water
- 1teaspoon sea saltor to taste
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a pan.
- Add the chopped garlic and stir for about 30 seconds.
- Add the fresh cilantro and stir for another 30 seconds.
- Add the frozen mulukhia and 1/2 cup water. Cover the pot and cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add extra water if needed.
- Once the dish is warm, add the salt.
